Richard S. Lee, President and Treasurer
Rich has thirty-two years of marketing/sales, distribution management and underwriting experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. Has held a wide variety of officer-level positions with three insurance companies. Most recently, he was Vice President with Prudential Property and Casualty Company. Prior to Prudential he spent seven years with Pennsylvania Manufacturers’ Insurance Company and twenty years with CIGNA/INA.
We have been residents of Chester County PA for over 25 years and are active members of several civic organizations. Rich holds a BA from Hobart College and has done graduate work at Drexel University.
Betsy S. Lee, Vice President and Secretary
Betsy is a secondary school teacher, certified in Latin. Since 1997, she has been a substitute teacher in the Great Valley Middle School. She has held leadership positions in several organizations including a pre-kindergarten day school, the Malvern Public Library and Girl Scouts of America.
Betsy holds a BA degree from Penn State University and has done graduate work at Penn State. Betsy is also a Fellow in the National Writing Project.
Terry Houston, Service Technician
Terry is from the Chester and Lancaster Counties area. He graduated from Octorara High School, and took specific classes for carpentry and cabinetmaking. He has worked in the trades all of his adult career, and skilled in all phases handyman work including carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and electrical.
When not working, Terry still likes to work. He builds custom furniture in his extensive wood shop at his home. Terry also is a Pennsylvania state-ranked competitive arm-wrestler.
Terry was designated as a “Certified Technician” by Mr. Handyman International for 2007; only one of sixteen designations country-wide.
Eric Alvarez, Service Technician
Eric has lived in the area for several years, but grew up in Florida. He graduated from Dixie Hollins High School in St. Petersburg. He has broad experience in the trades with strong skill in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and general remodeling. Prior to joining our team Eric was in apartment maintenance for a number years.
Away from the job Eric just moved into a new home and enjoys fishing and spending time with his sons.
Joseph T. Robinette, Service Technician
Joe was born in Coatesville, but spent much of his childhood in southern West Virginia and still considers West Virginia home. He attended Colorado Tech University and served three years in the Air Force. After his discharge Joe has worked in a variety of trade positions.
Prior to joining Mr. Handyman Joe owned his own roofing and remodeling business. In addition to his roofing skills Joe has substantial experience in carpentry, siding, electrical, plumbing and tile work. Joe makes his home in Honey Brook and when he isn’t working he enjoys golf and playing with his children and is keenly interested in local politics.
Joseph M. Panoc, Service Technician
Joe is a Delaware County native; he went to Sun Valley High School and has lived in the Aston area his entire life. As a boy, Joe was very involved with Scouting and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
He has vast construction experience having run his own construction company for several years and worked for a variety of trade contractors. Joe’s skills include carpentry, electrical, siding, plumbing and extensive skill in telephone, cable and data communications. In his free time Joe plays golf and enjoys motocross racing.
Mitchell F. LeFevre, Service Technician
Mitch has been a Chester County resident for a number of years, but was born and raised in Delaware County. He graduated from Cardinal O’Hara High School and worked for over 20 years at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. For the last 12 years worked in “high-end” custom residential contracting and has developed his expertise in all of the trade areas including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, drywall, tile and painting. At home in the East Fallowfield area, Mitch cultivates his passion for flower gardening.
David C. Karnbach, Service Technician
Dave is a native of Delaware County and is a graduate of Upper Darby High School. Recently he moved into Chester County with his wife and children. He brings 25 years of experience to Mr. Handyman in all major trade areas including finish carpentry and electrical. He also was a registered plumber. Before joining Mr. Handyman, Dave had his own business and was a maintenance foreman for several apartment complexes, condominiums, shopping centers and office buildings. He is also a certified Pella window & door installer. Dave loves family movie nights at home and camping with his children. He also takes great pride in entering his Harley in various shows and rallies.
Cheryl McTavish, Customer Service Representative
Cheryl is from Boyertown. She grew-up in the country and her parents still live on their 100 acre farm in which Daniel Boone actually stayed. Cheryl is a Pennsylvania-licensed realtor. Prior to joining Mr. Handyman, she was a Sales Manager for several new home builders and real estate companies.
Away from the office Cheryl enjoys gardening, hiking with her two dogs, cooking and spending time with her son and family.
Robert J. Sakers, Operations Manager
A native of Delaware County, Bob is a graduate of Garnet Valley High School. He has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of the handyman business. In 2005, Bob was recognized as the “Service Technician of the Year” by Mr. Handyman International. Recently Bob was designated as our Operations Manager.
Away from the job Bob enjoys most sports, especially golf.
